For what it is worth, I think that it would depend on the spirit of the one you are honoring. Is this person grounded, consistant, someone you can count on? Or is this person adventurous, lively, free spirited? That might guide ones decision.
I have to agree with the previous comment about how it depends on who you are honoring. However, I am thinking in more practical terms... people do not tend to log the HH travels very much and if you want to be sure of the "monument" lasting, a traditional is easier to maintain for extended periods =o)
I have heard about the ashes of someone traveling around as a HH (geocache style)though =o)
