Mtn Mystery Gathering was a Hoot

The Gathering is over and done...
it seemed to fly by me.
Friday Night was a small liitle get together to celebrate
Carolina Drama Queen's birthday.
Some folks did some exchanges that night...
I suspect it was at the urging of Wolf mama though.
She wanted to get those exchanges ASAP so she could leave
before anyone else Saturday during the event.
She is a mad woman (and I mean that with all fondness)
when it comes to getting as many boxes and hiking as
far as possible in the amount of time allowed. :)
She and MountainScorpia must have made a great duo.
They found almost EVERYTHING!

Of course...
nothing went smoothly for me Saturday morning and
instead of arriving 30 minutes early...
I was 30 minutes late *rolls eyes at self*
It might have helped if I hadn't been up till 4am.
I was just totally pumped. I couldn't have slept if I had been drugged.

It was so fun meeting all the folks I had talked with on the AQ boards...but dang...I was overwhelmed. I missed half the exchanges and even more personal travelers. I had things i meant to give away but there they were still in my box when i returned home.
I did give away 2 gorgeous gift boxes full of goodies...
so many, many, many thanks to everyone that sent me goodies for those.

The evening was cold up on "the Knob" but the sunrise was incredible.
I didn't get the clues handed out when i should have to the boxes up there so it was a bit difficult to read the whole story in the dark. It was a night hunt but ...let's just say i didn't think about all aspects. LOL I have learned my lesson on that one. For one...Don't wait on one person and make everyone else suffer in darkness. Sorry guys!

That night back at the campground...
well...let's just say the rule about quiet time being at 10 pm...
well...it uh...kinda got broke that night
*points toward mama Wolf, Cam and MoJo*
my hysterical laughter didn't help add to the noise level
*shakes head*
:)

There is no way i can thank everyone enough...
no way I can ever forget some of the friends and smiles...
It was wonderful...
so...big fat Dixie hugs to all

I had a Blast!

Whew!!

ps. I like the quality of some of the Cherokee boxes better than any I've done.

Yes, It has been awhile since I have taken the time to sit and write here. I just haven't been in the mood to write much. Sure did alot of carving though for National Day of Letterbox Planting on May 24th. Most all of the 19 boxes I listed that day was actually planted on that day. I didn't have time to do the clues for many of them because of all the planting. It took days to get all the clues up.

For the most part...I have been really excited about my efforts for planting day. The logbooks were handmade, of course the stamps were hand carved and I found some good locations with historical significance etc. I can't wait for them all to get their "First Finders".

There are several boxes in or around Bryson City and Robbinsville, NC that I had previously adopted but just now am adding them to Atlas Quest. The listings for those boxes at AQ make the boxes look new with no finds but they are actually a few years old with many finds logged into them.

I still have to get to a couple of them for the first time and do maintenance.

I hope to see lots of new images in the log books in the coming months. Get out there and BOX!!!!

I am working on a new blog page to link to the others. It will be dedicated to postal letterboxing. I couldn't NOT do a page for Postals since I have become so addicted to them. Hopefully I will have it up real soon. I am going to announce my next postal ring ideas there...so keep an eye open!!

Child's Play PLB Ring

The Blogs are ready to use for those members of Child's Play Ring.
I am not done with my log book or actual "box" because i am stuck with how to do them. The carvings have been done. Actually, except for kjo's box the carvings were what gave me the idea for the ring. Everyone's ideas are really great. I keep wishing I had thought of some of them. LOL

I am pumped up about this ring. I think it's potential is so incredible.

I'M BAAACKKK!!!!!
Woo Hoo!! So far so good...(still keeping fingers crossed) looks like my new install of windows is up and running quite well at this point...except one thing. I had stopped these annoying pesky little boogers long ago so I have forgotten what stopped them. I am refering to the little windows that will pop up in the middle of your screen saying something like "critical windows alert" (the window's title is always "messenger service") then it goes on to say there is a critical error and you must go to this site (something like pcfix.com or freepcscan.com etc, etc) to keep repair your system immediately. If I remember correctly, these are like pop up ads but so far my attempts at stopping them have failed...maybe because i am using firefox instead of IE ??

any help out there??

Atlas Quest: International Letterboxing
I spent today completely wiping out my hard drive and re-installing windows...this after the major meltdown I posted about at AQ. Hopefully I have solved most of my computer woes...keep your fingers crossed!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!
MAJOR MELTDOWN !!

My computer that is...
Yep, It had a major meltdown yesterday!!
Nothing worked. Nothing had files or programs associated with them. Windows would not finish a repair because the only form of the professional service pack 1 need to finish was not on a CD but on a floppy...and...well, long story....long aweful story!!

anyway, my computer is still not working properly but I can get online briefly. I plan to work for the next couple of days moving pics and documents onto disks for storage. Then, I honestly think I am gonna have to wipe windows out and start fresh. Right now there are 2 seperate instances of windows on the computer. That was the only way to get on an d retrieve my priceless photos etc.

please say a little computer prayer for me :0) If I loose my pictures I am gonna flip my lid !!
